I don’t know about you, but I regularly look at my makeup drawer and go, “Why do I have this?”
Why do I have ugly old eyeshadow that I never wear? Is that half-used mascara I don’t like ever going to see action again? And why does everybody buy me strong-smelling lotions all the time that are nice, but not something I can wear every day without setting off someone’s allergies?
There are no real answers, but there are tons of ways you can put the items into your makeup drawer to use somewhere else in your home!
1. Turn one of your many foundations into a tinted moisturizer.
It turns out that you can mix a bit of foundation with regular lotion for a tinted moisturizer, perfect for days where you don’t need a ton of coverage.
2. Use hairspray to prevent a run in tights or to stop a run from spreading.
For prevention, just spray a light coat over the tights. If you’re trying to stop a tear from ripping its way further, spritz the affected area and let it dry, repeating if necessary.
3. The handy shaving cream in your shower can also remove difficult stains.
This trick has worked on everything from mustard to greasy food to wine. Blot the shaving cream down, then let it sit for at least half an hour. When you come back, you should be able to wipe or scrub the stain away.
